As a result, many global performance motorcycle manufacturers are turning their focus into the Indian market. Furthermore, biking has become a passion among the travelers in India. As now people are traveling to some remote locations like Ladakh on their bikes just for the sake of their passion. Therefore, the performance division has gained massive popularity among the new generation.

Presently, there are a plethora of sports bikes to choose from. As everyone is trying to sell their sports bike to the new potential customers. However, the prices are almost exorbitant after doing all the taxes. That’s why buying sports is a decision of the heart, rather than the brain. So without further a due let me unwind you the best sports you can buy in India.

  • Yamaha MT-09: 

    Yamaha has been the prime player in the sports bike market from the very beginning.  Launched at the Auto Expo 2016 event, The MT-09 features a magnificent minimalistic design. And a bike packs a powerful 843cc 3-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 113 brake horsepower with 87 Nm of torque. In addition to that, you get a 6-speed transmission. The MT-09 also consists of all the safety features like ABS and traction control for a proper grip on the road. Furthermore, the bike performs well on a track even in wet conditions. However, the bike is only available in the naked sports model from Yamaha India. The Yamaha MT-09 is priced at 11.36 lakhs INR.

  • Kawasaki Z1000: 

    Kawasaki is also famous for their sports bikes. Especially for their Ninja line up. The Z1000 features a naked body with an exposed engine, a sharp and crisp design. In addition to that, the bike packs a 1,043cc engine that produces an astonishing 140 brake horsepower with 111Nm of torque. The Z1000 remains 10kgs lighter than its sibling Z800 and the Ninja 1000, which makes to bike agiler and quicker in acceleration speed. Furthermore, you also get ABS as the standard for better grip while cornering in the roads. The bike really feels value for money after considering the build quality and equipment list. The Kawasaki Z1000 starts at 12.87 lakhs INR.

  • Suzuki GSX-S1000: 

    Perhaps Japanese are the best in manufacturing sports bikes. Another entry by Japan into our list, the Suzuki GSX-S1000. The design feels bold and muscular with its solid road presence. As a matter of fact, Suzuki has done an impressive job in making it all rounder street bike instead of just focusing on performance. However, don’t get me wrong, the bike packs a 999cc 4-cylinder engine that produces an impressive 140 brake horsepower with 106 Nm of torque. So you don’t need to worry about power and practicality of the bike. Furthermore, the bike consists of minimum electronics making it more of a mechanical machine rather than an electronic one. You ABS as a standard for better braking and traction control for superior grip over the road.The Suzuki GSX-S1000 starts from the whopping 12.25 lakhs INR.

  • Triumph Street Triple: 

    A badass design and monstrous performance. The Triumph Street Triple is unarguably Triumph’s best selling bike across the world. As a matter of fact, Triumph has managed to sell over 400 units in India and a whopping 50,000 units in the International market. The bike packs a 675cc inline 3 engine that produces a respectable 76 brake horsepower with 57.3 Nm of torque. The smaller displacement size makes the bike cheaper than its competitors. Furthermore, the engine remains naked and fully exposed. Which further enhances the looks of the bike. Street Triple feels quite light and responsive while cornering through the streets. And it’s aerodynamic design further increases its agility. If you are looking for a naked street bike then Triumph Street Triple is the bang for your money.   • Ducati Monster 821: 

    The Ducati Monster 821 is the most affordable Ducati money could buy. Its styling is purely masculine and aggressive, and its red color further enhances the feel of the sports bike. Unlike rest of the Ducati range, this one feels more civilized and more practical to drive. You can easily use it as your daily driver to navigate around the town. The bike is powered by an 821cc L-twin engine that produces a massive 110 brake horsepower with 89.4 Nm of torque. In addition to that, you get a 6-speed manual transmission.

    Ducati is a well-known brand for its cutting edge technology and racing pedigree. The Monster 821 is no exception, it comes with advanced ABS and traction control for better grip on the road. And it also features three different riding modes for more control over the vehicle. There are three packs available for the same bike for customization. Firstly, the sports packs that mainly focuses on the racing and performance factors. Secondly, the Touring pack which focuses on cruising on the motorway. Lastly, the Urban pack which further enhances bike’s off-road capabilities with raised ground clearance. However, Ducati is also planning to launch a much affordable model called the Monster 797.   • Yamaha YZF-R1S: 

    One of the true pioneer in the sports bike segment. The Yamaha YZF R1 series has been one of the most anticipated sportbikes in the history of sports motorcycles. This time Yamaha has further increased their focus on raw performance. As the YZF-R1S packs a 998cc engine that produces a jaw dropping 197 brake horsepower with 112 Nm of torque. Furthermore, the bike features various electronic aids to assist the rider while riding at high speed. You get all the usual sports bike equipment such as traction control, ABS. In addition to that, you are also getting Wheelie control for enhanced safety and to prevent the rider from falling. The Yamaha YZF R1 starts at 24.75 lakhs INR.

  • Kawasaki ZX-10R: 

    Green color has been the hallmark color of Kawasaki bikes. Their Ninja series is the best example of this philosophy. The Zx-10R is powered by a 999cc engine that produces a massive 197 brake horsepower with 113.5 Nm of torque. Kawasaki has paid special attention to reducing the weight to provide better weight to power ratio in this bike. Furthermore, all the components have the best pristine quality that matches industrial standard of quality. The bike feels agile and responsive while corner and taking speed. However, it uses multiple electronic aids to achieve a stable performance. The ZX-10R is priced at 16.94 lakhs INR.

  • Suzuki GSX-R1000 ABS: 

    Another entry by the Japanese giant into our list. Suzuki GSX-R1000 is a purely performance based motorcycle, as you will find very less practicality. For this reason, Suzuki has managed to fit a 999cc engine block that produces a massive 160 brake horsepower and it is back up by a 6 six manual gearbox. In addition to that, you get all the modern equipment like ABS and traction control as standard. The bike feels very responsive and agile on any tarmac. As a matter of fact, the design speaks itself with its monstrous appeal. You could easily feel its grunt while it stands next to you. Even though the engine remains completely covered by carbon fiber. The Suzuki GSX-R1000 starts at 16 INR. However, due to its high demand, Suzuki is unable to import more units at once. Booking in advance would be a good option.

  • Triumph Daytona 675R: 

    A more civilized and practical attempt at Sports bike. The Daytona 675R feels robust and well built in the first glance. As a matter of fact, Triumph has focused more on practicality. However, it features a 675cc engine that is responsible for producing an impressive 117 brake horsepower with 70.2 Nm of Torque. And it is backed up by a 6-speed manual gearbox. Furthermore, Triumph has managed to provide more refinement and efficiency in the engine. Its engine note is instantly likable and feels like music itself. No doubt, anyone would like to take it for a spin on a track day. The bike has a better suspension system to absorb shocks efficiently than any of its rivals.
