A beautiful city in the western region of India also called as Pink City Jaipurwith important attractions like hill forts and series of palaces in the city. Places to visit in Jaipur:

CITY PALACE AND S.M.S. II MUSEUM – occupies around one seventh of the old city area. A blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture; houses a Seven storied Chandra Mahal in the centre, you can enjoy a great view of the gardens and the city.

JANTAR MANTAR – in 18th century this monument was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, the huge masonry instruments were used to study universe including stars and movements in the constellation.

HAWA MAHAL-the most famous monument in the city that was built in 1799, by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh. This fabulous five storied monument with 152 windows and over hanging latticed balconies is a fine piece of Rajput architecture.

JAIGARH FORT -the fort that stands 15 kms on a hilltop, a great view to cherish the city of palaces. Jai Ban the world’s most largest cannon is positioned here, that was built during reign of Maharaja Sawai Jaisingh.

AMER – the old capital of the Kachhwahas stands atop a range of craggy hills. The fort is remarkable as much for the majestic grandeur of its surroundings as for its sturdy battlements and beautiful palaces.

JALMAHAL-on the way to Amer, this small palace is set in the middle of Man Sagar Lake. A paved causeway leads up to the beautiful water palace.

NAHARGARH FORT – a hill about 600 ft. above the city, the fort was built in 1734. The walls of the fort run along the ridge and within are architectural beauties like Hawa Mandir and Madhvendra Bhawan.

CENTRAL MUSEUM – situated in the Ram Niwas Garden. This graceful building was founded in 1876 by Prince Albert (also known as Albert Hall). It has a rare collection of archaeological and handicraft pieces.

BIRLA PLANETARIUM – offers unique audio-visual education about stars and the galaxy with high-end computerized system of the modern arena.

LAXMI NARAYAN TEMPLE – just below the Moti doongri, famous for white marble carvings, popularly known as Birla Temple.

KANAK VRINDAVAN – newly restored temple and garden, near Jal Mahal, with soothing gardens and a famous picnic spot and complete weekend delight for your family to enjoy.

Shopping points – Known as bazaar a famous evening spot to shop your goods a complete sight of colors, sounds and fragrances. A delight for foodies with varieties of food items, other take-away are textiles, flowers and carved statues.
